IEX Europe new dates announced: 23 to 24 June 2021

20 March 2020

IEX - Insulation Expo Europe, the international trade fair for industrial insulation materials and insulation technology, which was to be held in Nuremberg in June, has been postponed to June 23-24, 2021 due to the escalation of COVID-19 coronavirus around Europe and the world.

The decision came following advice from the government in Bavaria – who have declared a national disaster - and after multiple conversations with the industry and partners.

The IEX Europe was due to be held at the Nuremberg exhibition centre, in co-location with FeuerTrutz. However, due to current development, NürnbergMesse and FeuerTrutz Network have had to postpone their event to 30 September – 1 October, hence our decision to move the IEX to 2021, in Nuremberg.

"Our top priority is the health and safety of our exhibitors, attendees, industry partners and staff. The decision to postpone the IEX to next year was not taken lightly", said Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel, Director of the IEX Europe, Reed Exhibitions. "In light of the rapidly changing situation, many sectors of industry are coming huge under pressure and all aspects of business and life are in flux. In close cooperation with exhibitors and partners, we have agreed that in doing so we can offer the insulation technology industry the best customer value and the best conditions of security and serenity for the future event. We are grateful for all the support we have received from our IEX community and we look forward to seeing everyone next year“ Jungmichel continues.

The industry agrees with the postponement. "In our view, the decision to hold the IEX Europe in Nuremberg next year is the right one and we support it. It gives companies more security in their planning, because today no one is able to predict what the situation will look like in June" said Andreas Gürtler, Foundation Director of the European Industrial Insulation Foundation (EiiF).

In order to best serve our customers, Reed Exhibitions have a dedicated IEX pavilion planned from 30 September to 1 October, parallel to the FeuerTrutz 2020.

Testimonials from the industry:

"In our view, the decision to hold the IEX Europe in Nuremberg next year is the right one and we support it. It gives companies more security in their planning, because today no one is able to predict what the situation will look like in June".
Andreas Gürtler, Foundation Director of the European Industrial Insulation Foundation (EiiF)

"The new date for IEX Europe gives us valuable time and takes away the pressure that our industry is also under at the moment. The IEX is important for the insulation technology industry- especially next year, when the situation will hopefully have eased".
Markus Biland, Managing Director, MABI AG

"We support this step, which will benefit our entire industry. This also gives us more security in our planning".
Edith Holl-Keutner, Managing Director, Sebald Iso-Systeme GmbH u. Co. KG

"[...] The one-year postponement is exactly right. An earlier date would not have given us sufficient planning security. Since we wanted to use the IEX for some product launches, we now have to consider other communication channels. Perhaps together with the IEX team!"
Thomas Pitsch, Sales Manager, Schwartmanns Maschinenbau GmbH

"A good decision. A new IEX Europe date next year will give us and our customers the time we need."
Silke Droste, Managing Director, Wilhelm Hundt GmbH

"Unfortunately, there is no telling how long the current state of affairs will last. An IEX Europe 2021 is the right step, giving everyone certainty in their plans."
Matthias Bopp, Managing Director, Korff Isolmatic GmbH

"The IEX Europe is important to us. We therefore welcome this decision - especially that it was taken so early. This gives us as exhibitors the planning security we need in this situation.
Jonathan Lack, Marketing Specialist at Coroplast

"We welcome the decision to postpone the IEX show. This gives us planning security and allows us to concentrate on the best way of meeting the current challenges. Postponing the show until next year is the right step. In my opinion, this will ensure that the trade fair can be attended without fears and reservations, which will benefit the quality of this important trade fair.
Frank Baur, General Manager K-FLEX EUROPA and Chairman of the EiiF Membership Board

"As someone who works in the insulation industry, I fully support the decision to move the IEX Europe into the new year.”
Ilkay Özkisaoglu, Owner IMBEO and B2B Business Development Strategist
